Needing an Easter dessert? These delicious yet easy to make Crème Egg Brownies are just perfect!
Place the crème eggs in the freezer (this will make them easier to cut).
Grease your cake tin (preferably 20cm/8in).
Preheat the oven to 180C.
Place the chocolate, butter and cocoa powder in a heatproof glass bowl over a saucepan of water – ensuring the water doesn’t touch the bowl.
Stir until completely melted and then remove from the heat.
In a different bowl, whisk together eggs, caster sugar, light brown sugar and vanilla until the mixture is smooth.
Pour in the chocolate mixture and mix well.
Then add in the flour and salt and mix until smooth.
Roughly chop the shortbread biscuits and add in.
Pour the mixture into the prepared tin.
Take the crème eggs out of the freezer and slice in half down the middle.
Place them on top of the brownie with the insides of the eggs facing up. Push down into the mixture slightly.
Bake for around 30 minutes until set.
Leave to cool completely before slicing into squares.
Enjoy!
